Humbled

Today I received a couple photos from Sean – a cool cat from Canada. He dedicated a huge part of his living room wall to display my representation of my friend Koich’s ’71 Celica. I’m sure you guys are familiar with the build and sketch I did back a few years ago. Over the last few years, I’ve been very humbled by you guys supporting me and my work. Seeing such displays really inspires me to keep sketching, although time is really hard to find nowadays.

Sean also chose Paul’s S15 to be framed as well, and I think the frame shop did an amazing job. The yellow border nicely adds a touch of contrast.

A while back Mr. JDMEGO Jay posted a few shots of the huge Fuji poster he had framed. I’m crazy lucky to have Jay as a friend and blog homie, he’s been one of my biggest supporters since the very start of my crappy blog.

I’m very humbled to see my work on your guys and girls walls, each and every one of you. I love when you send me snapshots showing me what you’ve done with the prints – so please, don’t hesitate to send more my way!!

The Royal Racer in Biarritz

random clip with a great feel to it.

a lucky man’s stable

I’m sure the vast majority of you will recognize the striking combination of red with gunmetal of Eric’s Hakosuka. The boys at JDM Legends did an amazing job introducing this legendary machine to us, and kept us posted, or more like teased us with all their work-in-progress updates on the car. I was very fortunate to get an email from Eric a few months ago asking if I’d be interested in doing an illustration for him of his two L28 powered beauties. Needless to say, I jumped on the opportunity. Eric wanted to get an illustration that showed off both cars on the same canvas.

As most of you know, judging by the lack of posts i’ve been busy as hell with family and life in general. Regardless, i would still like to do an illustration of the Hako all by itself – i think it deserves a spotlight of it’s own.

Not to be out-shadowed by the c10, Eric’s other vintage track machine is a nimble ’73 240z. I’m a huge fan of both cars and get a kick out of following Eric’s posts on the JNC forums where he describes each fix and modification he’s done to both of his cars in great detail. One day I’m hoping to get my own s30 up to the same level as the beauty above.. one day..

as promised

the “asshole” lol

look who paid a visit…

So last night i get a text from Jose saying that he’s going to swing by in a few, while i was re-stocking on some household goods at a nearby store. I immediately blow off the remainder of the shopping list and run to the check-out lane. I rushed home and sat on the front porch and patiently awaited the little Hako’s arrival.

I’ve been in love with the c10 for a long time, and thought I knew the thing inside-out from seeing tons of photos and videos of the car. But seeing the Hako appear at the end of my street was something else. The tiny thing had so much presence, proportionally as much as Cee Lo Green in a feather suit, but in a good, modest way lol. I snapped a few crappy photos before Jose forced me to drive the Skyline…. I’ll let the shitty photography do the talking from here. enjoy.

the car deserves a way better photoshoot, and i promise that’ll come very soon.
